Are You Ready to Become a Leader in Your Profession or Skill?

Purpose
CETA Leadership Mentoring Program helps Early Professionals gain knowledge and ideas as well as build a professional network from more experienced professionals. Experienced Professional have an opportunity to impart knowledge and learn about the challenges and experiences of the new and upcoming workforce. The program is focused on leadership development skills by providing exposure to the skills and concepts necessary to become a leader in organizations. In many cases, the skills translate to life outside of the workplace.
Eligibility
Mentors should have:
- 10 or more years of professional work experience
- Experience managing individuals or teams of individuals
- Expertise in the following areas: communication skills, strategic decision making, organizational skills, and resource management
- The ability to recall insights/experiences to help guide the mentee
- An interest and active participate in mentorship
Mentee should be:
- An upcoming university graduates or an Early Professional with 1 – 5 years of work experience
- An active participant and engaged in the mentorship program
Discussion Topics:
- Managing Change
- Emotional Intelligence
- Cultivating Collaboration
- Influence
- Time Management

Patent Basics for Professionals:
A basic understanding of the fundamentals of patents. Learning about the makeup of a patent, how it works, and the process of obtaining the patent. Also, options for getting into the field and the various roles of practitioners will be discussed.
Registrants should seek to learn more about possibly transitioning to the patent field or at least adding patent prosecution to their skill set.

Financial Literacy and Asset Protection:
Learn how to become more efficient with money and when to proactively seek help. Lower your necessary bills to free up resources, estimate future needs, and protect your assets for you and your family.
Registrants seeking to learn about budgeting, taxes, retirement, and estate planning should sign up for this one time one-hour class.
