Another Amazing CETA Event, October 2020

Chaldean Engineering and Technology Association

“A beautiful unity of Chaldean engineering talent and friends from around the world”

CETA October 2020 event featured 4 presentations from talented members and professionals. Our agenda was filled with job opportunities and ideas for startups and team collaboration. The MC, Lara Yaldo managed the event details working together with each CETA presenter and members.

Here is the event agenda:

  • We started with a Prayer to bless all our CETA members and their families
  • Welcoming Remarks from CETA founders, Tom Alkatib and Deacon Keith Esshaki
  • CETA overview and Volunteers Appreciation
  • Main Presentation: Civil Engineering Connecting the World. By Engineer, Vian Somo. Vian is a Civil Engineer at City of San Diego. She has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the California State University-Sacramento. Vian did a great job presenting an informative details about civil engineering and positive impact.
  • Second Presentation: Staffing Strategy for CETA Members. By Nadine Bashir. She is an Account Manager at insight Global. Helping our members and attendees with best practices to land great opportunities and especially for younger and new graduates that are seeking to build their future.
  • Third Presentation: Demand Forecasting. By Dr. Sam Istephan. He is a Data & Artificial intelligence Technology Architect at Microsoft. He received his PHD from Oakland University. Dr. Sam Istephan surprised us with another awesome presentation. He shared examples how demand forecasting can be offer a great business impact to different industry in Healthcare, Food services and manufacturing. Dr. Istephan shared his blog were he publishes all his research in Machine Learning and Data Science.
  • Fourth Presentation: CETA Mentorship. By Anthony Shamoun. He is Service Delivery Director at IBM Watson Health. He received his master’s in business and Information Technology from Walsh University. Anthony shared an update about this exciting CETA initiative. Helping our younger CETA members gain leadership skills from older and more experienced CETA members. This is an amazing program and free to join. Many new members joined the program after hearing about it. More details about this wonderful initiative is posted on CETA.US site.

CETA members and attendees had a chance to interact and ask question with presenters and other members. Share ideas and suggestions. We also introduced members and attendees.

We closed CETA event with an appreciation prayer for all attendees, volunteers, members and partners for working together and helping build this wonderful organization for our global Chaldean community.

Several CETA attendees, April 24th, 2020 Virtual Event

Our first CETA virtual event on April 24th, 2020 was a major success. Many Chaldeans, Syriacs and Assyrians attended globally from Michigan, San Diego, Canada, Australia, Iraq.

CETA members exchanged suggestions, jobs, expertise and ideas to unite and work together helping each others and our global community that is in at least 30 countries. Most of the attendees requested that we continue to offer CETA virtual events and expand it to additional locations such as Europe and New Zealand.

CETA will continue to serve all Chaldean engineering and IT professionals and our friends. We welcome your on going support.

Fantastic CETA Virtual Event! – April 24th, 2020 Update

An Amazing Virtual Event of CETA Members Joining Together Globally

On Friday, April 24th, 2020, Chaldean Engineering and Technology Association (CETA) members from Michigan, San Diego, Canada (Toronto and Quebec City), Australia and Iraq joined our first virtual event via Zoom.

CETA Members started with meeting and greeting each others. A short and individual introduction of members from the around the world. A welcoming statement by Tom Alkatib, CETA Michigan Chapter and Two CETA presentations from San Diego and Michigan Chapters, led by Usama Georges, CIO and Anthony Shamoun, IBM Director with support from Samantha Alkatib.

While Lara Yaldo and Raed Mary from CETA Michigan managed operated as the technical directors of this virtual meeting working together and navigating through CETA member slides, CETA cam gallery and chat windows. Excellent teamwork!

Deacon Keith Esshaki honored us with a beautiful prayer while remembering the children saints from Portugal, Saints Francisco and Jacinta Marto. Thank you Deacon Keith!

Our final segment included an open forum for CETA members to introduce themselves and meet other members while sharing their expertise and suggestions for future CETA events. Chaldeans, Syriacs, Armenians and Assyrians attended this beautitful engineering event showing our unity to support our global community.

Job opportunities were shared and several potential projects and initiatives to be explored by CETA members. This virtual event lasted more than 3 hours where many attendees wanted to stay longer.

We tool a poll and logged questions and suggestions via SLIDO.com. The majority of CETA members are looking forward to the next virtual event while we expand the invitation to include Europe, Mexico and New Zealand.
